the hammer itself is stunning but the light which warms it doesnt sit close enough to melt the wax properly

Happy to help you with this issue.
If there is a fault with the warmer Scentsy will replace it free of charge for you under their warranty.
Maybe the bulb supplied was the incorrect bulb. It should be a 20w bulb.
Please can you email us regarding this with a picture ideally of the bulb not sitting near enough to the dish? Please also let us know your order number and I will forward this to Scentsy to resolve the issue.
Please also make sure you are using Scentsy Wax as Scentsy Wax has a lower melting point than other brands.
